Smoothie Recipe 101 – The Basics

Smoothie Recipe 101 – The Basics

Smoothies can be very beneficial or they can be a misleading justification that a “healthy” meal is being had. The biggest mistake many folks make is by adding way too many sweet ingredients and making a sugar drink. Yes, natural sugar is wonderful, but seriously, most people get too much sweet in their diets and not enough veggies, sour tastes, bitters or healthy fats. Folks also tend to lean on “protein” powders which are highly processed and hard on the kidneys and liver if ingested routinely.

Here is a basic, allergy friendly recipe, a “Smoothie  Recipe 101″ with some anchors to include and build from for your own rotation of nutrient rich ingredients: Take Five! Draw from each of the five groups and ALWAYS choose Non-GMO, organic ingredients. For more great recipes Buy “Essential Gluten-Free Recipes” by Tara Rayburn and Mary Vars
